Saktmóðigur is a Reykjavík based punk band formed in 1991. Their first publication was the tape cassette Legill in 1992, followed by two 10″ vinyl EPs in 1993 and 1996. The band has released three full length CDs, Ég á mér líf (1995), Plata (1998) and most recently Guð hann myndi gráta (2011). In 2013 Saktmóðigur released a three-track 7”, Demetra er dáin (2013).
Last year they put out Eistnaflugsdans (A Dance for Eistnaflug), celebrating the 10 anniversary of the festival.
“Saktmóðígur is like a spatter in the ass hair of all that is hip and cool in Iceland – forever doomed to be an outsider hanging sweating wet on the Periphery. The Punk Rock is still raw blooded and rattles on as a carcass in a slaughterhouse. Karl Pétur the singer is as excited as an savage and out of him spews violence and pornographic filth, accompaniment both soothed cylinder punk and crunching punk at snail’s pace.” (Dr. Gunni)
